Orientation Programme for First Year BCOM & BCA

On 17th June 2019, an orientation programme was organized at Goa Multi-Faculty College for FYBCOM & FYBCA students. The orientation programme was designed to give students a brief overview about the course structure and subjects, examination pattern, code of conduct, transport facility, library facility etc. Students were also introduced to the teachers who would handle the various subjects.

During the Orientation Programme, the Principal Dr. Shaikh Mohammad Parvez Al-Usmani welcomed the new batch of first year students into the GMFC family. He stated that cultivating a genuine love for knowledge can help students travel the path of success and stressed that the college will aim to provide students with high quality education which will help them perform well in the job market. The Principal then proceeded to explain the importance maintaining discipline and he insisted that students should  follow appropriate etiquette when interacting with their classmates, teachers and other staff members.

Next, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Manasvi Kamat explained the code of conduct that students are expected to abide by. She touched upon the need to wear identity cards, respect peers and teachers, dress modestly, submit assignments on time, maintain the required attendance percentage etc.

After this, Asst. Prof. Neelesh Morajkar from the Commerce Department and Asst. Prof. Nisha Sawant from the IT & Computer Application Department familiarized students with the department rules and expectations, overall course structure, semester system, examination pattern etc

Later, the Director of Physical Education, Mr. Elroy Pinto, told students about the various sports related activities they can participate in. The Librarian Mr. Ajit Faras acquainted students with the various facilities provided by our college. Coordinator of the GMFC NSS Unit gave an overview of the social service and social awareness activities undertaken by the NSS cell and the teachers from the BCOM & BCA departments briefly introduced themselves to the students.

The Orientation Programme ended with a formal vote of thanks by Asst. Prof. Kalpita Naik. Before the students dispersed, the BCA department played a DST highlighting the various past activities and achievements of GMFC. The programme was compered by Asst. Prof. Sandhya Joseph.
