On Saturday, 29th June 2019, the Commerce Department of S.S.P.E.S’s Goa Multi-Faculty College, Dharbandora, Goa, organized a Freshers’ Party to welcome the new F.Y.BCOM students into the GMFC family. The S.Y.BCOM and T.Y.BCOM students took the initiative to put together a joyous celebration for their juniors.
The Principal, Dr. Shaikh Mohammad Parvez Al-Usmani expressed his delight at seeing how beautifully and painstakingly the senior students had decorated the venue with balloons, ribbons and paper cut-outs. The Principal proceeded to say that the new batch of students should try to maintain a balanced attitude as far as college life is concerned; they should concentrate on academics and also try to find time for extracurricular activities. In doing all this, they should also remember the need to remain disciplined and modest. After this, the Principal, teachers and students gathered together to cut the ceremonial cake.
Later, all the First Year students introduced themselves and the seniors welcomed them into the Commerce Department and GMFC family with little gifts of pens and sweets. Many indoor games were held and spot prizes given. The Mister Fresher/Miss Fresher contest became the highlight of the party where, after many rounds, Mr. Gaurav Pilyekar was crowned Mr. Fresher and Sonali Kumbhar was bestowed with the title of Miss Fresher.
