On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, the library committee and the Library and Information Department of Goa Multi-Faculty College celebrated National Librarian’s Day. On 16th August 2019, a Book Exhibition, Quiz Competition and an Essay Competition were organized to commemorate the same.
On this occasion an essay competition was organized on the topic “Ïmportance of library”. The students were allowed to write in any of the four languages- Hindi, English, Marathi and Konkani. The students were asked to report to the library at 1.15pm and were allowed a maximum duration of one hour to submit the written essays.
A total of thirteen students participated in the competition where two essays were written in Hindi, one in Marathi and ten in English.
The essays were evaluated by Ms. Sandhya Joseph and Mrs. Nisha Sawant. The first prize was secured by Ms. Sharda R. Sonar of F.Y.B.Com. , the second place was secured by Mr. Rajat Tripathi of SYBCA and the third place was secured by Ms. Kajal Jamadar of S.Y.B.Com.
