The students of Goa Multi-Faculty College, Dharbandora have participated in the 14th Youth Festival organized by the Ministry of Sports & Youth Affairs, Govt. of Goa on 4th & 5th day of December, 2015 at Canacona (South Goa Meet).
On 04th December, 2015, Mr. Subasish Mohanty (Asst. Prof. in Commerce) was deputed with 24 students for participation in the various events. The participants along with the accompanying teacher have provided the bus facilities by the Goa Government which started from Dharbandora at 07:45 in the morning and reached Canacona at 9:45 AM. The Inauguration started at around 11 O’ clock after formal registration of the participants followed by Morning Tea. After the inauguration, the Group Folk Dance Competition took place, where 20 participants from the college participated. Mr. Prajyot (FY BBA) took part in Elocution competition and thus the day ended. During the performances, The Accompanying teacher, Mr Mohanty was extending his help in giving tips to the students. He also assisted Mr. lau Gawasin his practice for the vocal classical by exemplifying some Alaps and Taans for the Raga- Brindavani Sarang. While coming back, the bus provided by the Govt. officials broke down at Margao, causing delay and thus the participants along with the accompanying Teacher could reach the destination only at 8:10 in the evening.
The next day (5th December, 2015), Mr. Prakash Yamanappa (Librarian) accompanied the students. Students took part in various competitions and Mr. Lau Gawas was adjudicated as the 2nd Runners up for the Classical Singing (Vocal) and secured the third place.
