SESSION ON FINANCIAL MARKET & STOCK MARKET

To acquaint students with Core Financial constructs and the contemporary issues surrounding them, an interactive and explorative session was organized by the BBA Department of Goa Multi-Faculty College for its SYBBA Students on 2nd February 2016. This 3hrs session was facilitated by an experienced person from field of Finance with 30 plus years of experience that is Smt. Jyoti Budhia, a Freelance Trainer and Faculty member at BSE, and several other prestigious institutes.

The program began with a welcome address by the Principal Dr. Manasvi Kamat, wherein she urged students to reap maximum benefits from the series of enriching and enlightening sessions which shall be led by Ms. Budhia over the course of time. This series of talks have been initiated by GMFC to provide a strong financial base for students who will be opting for Finance Elective in the forthcoming year. The faculty for the session was introduced by Asst. Professor Ms. Sonam Gondlekar and was florally welcomed by HOD of BBA Department Mr. Kaustubh Kamat.

The vast repertoire of experience of Ms. Budhia was evident as she conversed with students o topics relating to Investments, Stock Market, Equity Market, Sensex, Capital Market and so on. Through her interactive approach she discussed firstly the operation of stock market with a special emphasis on functioning of BSE & NSE. Two types of markets, especially Debt and Equity Market were analyzed and their differences were narrated by the Faculty. Further she went on to discuss about SEBI, Intermediaries in Stock Market, Stock Trading and several other related concepts.

Immediately after her session, Goa Multi-Faculty College’s Calendar bearing photos of outstanding students of GMFC during 2014-2015, was released at the hands of  Dr. Manoj Kamat, Principal Dr. Manasvi Kamat and Guest Faculty Ms. Jyoti Budhia in the presence of Faculty members and students. The calendar has been released with an intention to celebrate the success of exemplary performers of GMFC, asserted Dr. Manoj Kamat. Calendars were distributed to the meritorious students by the dignitaries and to all other college students as well.

It was indeed a informative and enlightening session and everybody thanked the resource person for sparing her valuable time and energy with the students.
