MONEY MATTERS

On 28th November 2015, BBA students of Goa Multi-Faculty College participated in One Day State Level Finance Event organized by Damodar College, Margao. A Team of 12 students of GMFC were accompanied by MR. Eknath Shirodkar, Asst Professor in Business Administration.

Event started with the welcome dance and inaugural by lightning the lamp at the hands of distinguished dignitaries. Principal Mrs. Mallya in her Welcome Address shared some inspirational quotes on leadership with the participants. Guest of Honour, Mrs. Deepali Naik (Director – Women & Child Department of Goa) emphasized upon need to empower women economically, culturally, educationally and in all the other aspects.

To begin the event, a street play on Women Empowerment was performed by students of Shree Damodar College. Followed by this, dash was taken by contingent leaders of all the colleges. As the event comprised plethora of competitions, all of them were held simultaneously.

The first event was Hammer It Out, a Business Plan Presentation contest wherein Mr. Faiz Shaikh and Mr. Shivam Balve represented our college. For the second event that is, Econowhiz, which was basically a quiz on Economics concepts, Ms. Muriel Fernandes represented our college. The Third event was Battle It Out, a competition wherein students had to present their Investment Plan to eradicate poverty. Mr. Tanmay Malkarnekar participated in the event. For Chanakyaniti, A Case Study Analysis contest, Ms Shreya Naik impressed everyone with her analysis and presentation skills. The Last event was Stock Wars, and the participants for this event were Mr.Salman Shaikh, Mr. Artish Naik and Mr. Girish Naik. A street play competition, titled Jagruti was also held for which all the students from our college participated and performed on the theme “Women Empowerment”.

Valedictory function commenced at 5.00 pm with Mrs. Malkarnekar, a Woman Entrepreneur as the Guest of Honor. While addressing the crowd, she shared her experience and motivated students to start their own entrepreneurial business rather than being dependent on others. Valedictory function was followed by Prize Distribution at the hands of the guest.

Following students of Goa Multi-Faculty College bagged prizes for varied events:

  • Mr. Tanmay Malkarnekar (1st Prize for Battle It Out)
  • Ms. Shreya Naik (2nd Prize for Chanakyaniti)
  • Ms. Muriel Fernandes (1st Prize for Econowhiz)

All the winners and participants were wholeheartedly appreciated by the Principal of GMFC and the entire BBA Department.
