Inter Collegiate Judo Championship

 

 

The judo inter collegiate event was held at the Goa University Jubilee Hall on 13th to 17th August 2019. The Goa Multi Faculty College team participated in both the Men and Women events. A coaching camp of 1 month in July and August was conducted for the students under the guidance of Mr. Shivkaran Kewat. In the Men section there were total 14 participants and in the Women section a total of 7 participants.

In the upto 56 kg category, both Tabib Nadaf (SYBBA) and Saish Gaonkar (FYBCA) lost the first bout. In the upto 60 kg category Mayuresh Khalap (TYBCA) won his first bout but lost in the second bout and Akshay Gaonkar (FYBCA) lost in the first bout. In upto 66kg category Deepak Prasad (TYBBA) lost in a hard fought second bout and Vishwajit Velip (SYBCom) lost the first bout.  In the upto 73 kg category Nandhu Krishnan (TYBCA) and Adarsh Tippaie (FYBCom) lost his bout. In the upto 81 kg category Aniket Gawde (SYBCom) and Prajay Gawade (SYBCA) lost their first bout. In the upto 100 kg category Bosco Kenith (SYBCA) and Shubham Shinde (TYBCom) lost their 1st bout. The open category saw the college earning a bronze medal through Sairaj Borkar (FYBCA) whereas Narendra Parit (TYBCom) lost his first bout.

In the women section Sneha Gaonkar (SYBCA) won Gold in the upto 44kg category but Aditi Naik (FYBBA) lost her bout. Sneha Gaonkar became the first female gold medallist of our college. Vrunda Malekar (TYBCom) and Karishma Mahale (TYBCom) lost in the first bout in the upto 57 kg category. Litty Sebastian (TYBCA) lost her bout in upto 63kg category.
