Department of Business Administration of Goa Multi-Faculty College, Dharbandora in association with Reserve Bank of India organized a Financial Inclusion Program on 24th August 2016. This half day workshop comprised of plenary sessions by Banking Experts who enlightened 180 BBA students with varied aspects of finance and banking.
The program commenced at 2.00 pm and was inaugurated in the presence of Principal of Goa Multi-Faculty College Dr. Manasvi Kamat, Chief Guest Shri. Jaikish (General Manager – Reserve Bank of India), Shri. Carey Mascarenhas (Manager- Reserve Bank of India), Shri. Vijay Kadagle (Financial Inclusion and Development Department, RBI) and Shri. Shivani Nayak (Lead District Manager of State Bank of India – South Goa District).
Principal Dr. Manasvi Kamat welcomed the gathering and urged students to derive maximum inputs from the knowledge shared by the experts. Chief Guest Shri. Jaikish, while addressing the crowd gave students a broad overview of core financial constructs. He emphasized upon various Banking terminologies and Non Performing Assets.
Further, Shri. Carey Mascarenhas spoke on Reserve Bank of India, its Functions and process of Currency Management. While conversing on the same, he touched upon aspects like printing of notes, notes/coins in circulation, secure transfer of notes, destroyed notes etc.
The second session was taken by Shri. Vijay Kadagle who touched upon Banking Ombudsman Scheme and Fraud Related Issues. He offered them valuable inputs on how to lodge a complaint in case of any fraud and also on the usefulness of Consumer Protection Act.
Yet another interesting session on DFS Schemes and Educational Loan was conducted by Smt. Shivani Nayak. She highlighted how students can claim for educational loan from State Bank of India and also outlined the loan repayment procedure.
Program was indeed a very informative and interactive one and students got an opportunity to get their queries relating to banking entrance exams, currency etc. answered.
