National Voter’s Day is celebrated in India on 25th January every year to mark the Foundation Day of the Election Commission of India. As part of this occasion, on 24th Jan 2020, the Voter’s Pledge was administered the students of S.P.E.S’s Goa Multi-Faculty College. The concerned subject teachers in every classroom assisted the NSS Programme Officer Sandhya Joseph in this task. Students pledged to uphold democratic traditions of our country and the dignity of free, fair and peaceful elections without being influenced by considerations of religion, race, caste, community, language or any other inducement.
Further on 25th Jan 2020, the Nodal Officer for the Election Commission at the GMFC Campus, Asst. Prof. Neelesh Morajkar, and the Campus Ambassador for the Election Commission, Mr. Mayuresh Khalap, teamed up with the GMFC NSS Unit to administer the pledge to the B.Com. & B.C.A. students attending classes in the morning session.
The pledge was undertaken to motivate young voters to exercise their privilege to cast a vote in free and fair elections in a free democratic country.
