HANDBALL REPORT
The inter college Handball tournament was held at Goa University Football Ground, Taleigao-Plateau from 28thJanuary to 1stFebruary 2020. The students practiced for 1 month to prepare for the tournament. A total of 32 students 16 Boys and 16 Girls attended the coaching camp out of which all 16 boys and 16 girls were selected to represent the college. To prepare for the tournament the students were also taken for practice matches to different colleges. It was seen that the students performed well in all these matches.
The boys team played their 1st practice match against Rosary College of Commerce, Navelim. The 2nd match was against Damodar, 3rd against GVM, 4th against Don Bosco College, Panaji and finally against Government College, Borda. Girls played practice matches against Rosary College, Navelim, Kare Law College, Damodar College and Government College, Borda.
The college boys team participated in the inter college tournament organized by Rotaract Club of Bicholim. In the 1st round the college team defeated V.M Salgaocar College. In the quarter finals the college team got the better of Government College, Sanquelim. The college team lost in the semifinals against eventual winners Rosary College, Navelim.
In the first round our college boys faced Goa Pharmacy. The team was captained by DeeprajNaik of TYBCA.In a one sided match our college boys defeated Goa Pharmacy. It was a brilliant performance by the boys. The 2nd round was played against MES, Zuarinagar. It was another hard fought match by the students. Although our players were more skillfull than the opponents they failed to win the match as they could not convert their chances. Throughout the training and the tournament the students showed a brilliant performance and hardwork.
The college team also participated in the inter college event organized by Don Bosco college. In the 1st round the college team defeated DMs collegeAssagao. In the next round the team lost against Damodarcollege by 2 goals.
In the women section the college played against Government College, Pernem in the pre-quarter final. The captain of the team was HansiKurtarkar of SYBBA. In a tough match the girls lost 4-2.
