International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day was observed at Goa Multi-Faculty College on 8th March 2023

Advocate Yogita Kamat delivered a special talk on this occasion on ‘Legal Safeguards for Women at the Workplace.’

International Women’s Day (IWD) was observed at the Goa Multi-Faculty College, Dharbandora on 8th March 2023 with a talk on ‘Legal Safeguards for Women at the Workplace,’ by Advocate Yogita Kamat. Welcoming the gathering, Principal Prof. Shaikh Mohammad Parvez Al-Usmani lauded the immense contributions made by women in every sphere of life, thus stimulating development of a healthy society. He thanked the women staff of the College for their proactive role in the affairs of the college and also appreciated the female students for making their mark felt as they competed and coordinated with their male counterparts in sports, cultural events and academics to bring laurels to the College. Speaking further, he advocated a bigger and larger role to women in decision making in personal, pollical, social and professional arenas for the creation of vibrant and equitable society.

Chief Guest, Mrs. Sadischya Ganesh Gaonkar extolled women for their achievements in various areas and reiterated the importance of women both within the home and in workplaces for the betterment and furtherance of the society. She later handed over handmade cards crafted by students to all the female staff members.

On the occasion, the College students presented various activities in appreciation of their role and contributions, Mr Ansh Naik presented a monologue while, Mr. Nikhil Mane and Ms. Anjali Chowdaree recited their respective poems on the life of women. Mr. Sohail Mulla, and Dr. Subasish Mohanty, faculty member, each performed a song. A group dance was performed by the students whereas, Mr. Ayushman played a flute. Also, students created a Rangoli for this occasion which depicted a message ‘Give Respect to Her’. The program ended with a vote of thanks by the Ladies Representative, Ms. Yogita Ghadi and event was coordinated by Ms. Sandhya Joseph Convener of Women’s Cell.
