Report on Essay Competition to Mark Bharatiya Bhasha Diwas December 2023
An Essay competition was organized to observe Bharatiya Bhasha Diwas 2023.
Students of GMFC were asked to compose an academic essay of approximately 500 words and submit the same on 08th December 2023.
Participants could select any one of the topics listed below:
1. Is Hindi the National Language of India?
2. Multilingualism in Goa: Pros & Cons
The essay could be written in Konkani, Marathi, Hindi or English.
Overall, 10 essays were received. The essays were judged on the basis of Relevance to the Topic, Structure of Essay, Number of Points/ Sub-points Covered and Language Proficiency.
The first place went to Rohini Manjrekar from F.Y.B.Com.
The second place was claimed by Mr. Utkarsh Kerkar fron S.Y.B.Com.
The third place was won by Ms. Laxmi Balve from S.Y.B.Com.
The winners received certificates from the Principal of Goa Multi-Faculty College, Prof. (Dr.) Shaikh Mohammad Parvez Al-Usmani on 23rd December 2023.
