GMFC & GFG College, Haliyal conduct Inter-Disciplinary National Conference

ATwo-day National Level Multi-Disciplinary Conference was recently organized jointly by two institutions from two different states namely Goa Multi-Faculty College, Dharbandora, Goa, and Government First Grade College, Haliyal, Karnataka with the first day of the conference being held at Haliyal, Karnataka and the second day was at Dharbandora Goa.

While speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Chief Guest, Mr. Sham Kamat, devolved on the importance of holding an interdisciplinary conference and further explained its utility in arriving at solutions to vexed issues through a multidisciplinary approach. Further, he urged the participants to acquire multi-talents to help to adopt changing job environment. Others who graced the occasion were Principals, Dr. Chandrashekar Lamani and Prof. Shaikh Mohammad Parvez Al-Usmani besides Conference Conveners, Dr. Prasad Kulkarni Dr. Prasannakumar Ganji and other dignitaries.

The conference witnessed altogether 140 research papers being presented during four parallel technical sessions over the period of two days at two different places through online and offline modes. Dr. Anil Garag, Professor, Chanakya University, Bangalore, and Dr. S.M. Shivprasad, Director Karnataka, Higher Education Academy, Dharwad were the keynote speakers at Haliyal and Dharbandora respectively. Prof. Shaikh M. Parvez speaking at the valedictory function expressed his gratitude to the Principal of Govt. College Haliyal for networking for the conference and further said that this conference is kind of unique type wherein two different institutions, a govt college and grant-in-aid college from two states were involved in conducting at the two different venues and hoped that such collaboration will be carried forward in the future, as well, for the mutual benefit. The valedictory function concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. Ganji while Ms. Sonam Gondlekar compared the function.
