Workshop on ‘Investors Awareness on Capital Market”

On the 17th of August 2017, the Department of Commerce in association with the Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI) organised a two hours workshop titled ‘Investors Awareness on Capital Market’.  for S.Y and T.Y B.Com students. This workshop was conducted by CA Anand Tendolkar (Manager-SEBI) and Ms. Treasa Kuriala (Assistant Manager –SEBI) who enlightned around 60 students of Commerce.

The aim of the workshop was to give a brief exposure to the students about various investment avenues and financial products and services.

The workshop began at 11.30 a.m with a welcome note by the Principal Dr.Manasvi Kamat, followed by lighting of the traditional lamp. The Resource persons were introduced by the compere, Ms. Shraddha Gaunker, student from TY B.Com. As a gesture of gratitude a plant  sapling was gifted to the guests by Ms. Kalpita Naik, Course Coordinator of the B.Com course. After the formal welcome, the workshop was handed over to the resource persons for the day.

The workshop was conducted smoothly with the help power point presentation adding more value to the talk. It revolved around various topics of grave importance in the field of finance. The topics discussed were mutual funds, De-mat accounts, regulatory authorities in finance and on investor interest and protection.

The workshop was quite wholesome, detailed and rendered to exact information that was required by the students at undergraduate level. The students were actively involved in the discussion and the whole session was very interactive.

Mr. Ulhas Bansode, Assistant Professor in Commerce, ended it with the Vote of Thanks. Ms. Shraddha Gaunker , from T.Y.B.Com compered the workshop.
