To mark the celebration of International Yoga Day, Goa Multi-Faculty College organized a 1 ½ hr program on 21st June 2016 between 4.00 pm to 5.30 pm. The program was entirely led and managed by NSS division of College under the headship of Principal Dr. Manasvi Kamat. Program witnessed the presence of passionate students of Bcom, BCA and avid faculty members.
Program commenced with a welcome note by Principal Dr. Manasvi Kamat, stressing the essence of Yoga for a healthy and enduring life. Outlining the Indian roots of Yoga, Sarpanch of Dharabandora Village Panchayat insisted everyone to practice it on a day to day basis, as it’s a Mantra for a fit and fine lifestyle.
Mr. Suresh Kolvekar, Yog Guru from Patanjali Yog Samiti, vivaciously guided students through varied yoga sessions. Initiating with a prayer, he moved on to loosening sessions and further involved students in carrying out Yogasanas with a healthy and holistic approach like Tadasan, Ardha Chakrasan, Vajrasan, Vrikshasan and several more. Students also meditated for a while with Om chants playing in background.
All students pledged to transform themselves into healthy, peaceful, joyful and loving human beings.
