Commerce Department of Goa Multi-Faculty College organized a Field Trip for its F.Y, S.Y and T.Y B.COM on 26th February 2016 at Kirlapal Dabal NV ECO-FARM. Bus left from the college at around 11:45 and reached the venue at 12:30 pm. 52 BCom students were accompanied by 4 teachers namely; Rajendra Gounder, Subhashish Mohanty, Kalpita Naik and Dhanashri NaikDessai.
NV ECO-FARM is Goa’s Largest Nature and Adventure Destination with an area of 65-acre. Farm comprises of adventurous activities like wall climbing, trekking, zip lines, Burma Bridge, jumping Jack, rappelling and several more. Farm also has cashew plantation and several cultivations of spices, vegetables, flowers, papaya, battle nut, pineapple, mango and so on. The highlight of the farm was 300 yrs. old Banyan tree right in the center.
Farm has varied species of mango’s like Nilam, Hapus, Totapuri and pineapple that is Singaroo and Jaint Queen. Students saw two types of Papaya trees that is ordinary and Red lady papaya trees. The most interesting part of the trip was that students got an opportunity to witness how Feni is being extracted by following traditional methods.Students were indeed thrilled and excited to see Nakshatra van wherein plants have been planted as per zodiac signs, and it’s also mentioned how each plant benefits people of different Rashi’s. Farm is also equipped with Diversified farm, Butterfly Park, Natural pool, Natural trail, birding and so on
The trip got over at 5.00 pm. It was indeed a fun filled day for the students full of adventure and learning.
