Press Release on Annual Prize Distribution Day

On Friday, 5th April 2019, S.S.P.E.S’s Goa Multi-Faculty College, Dharbandora, Goa, held the Annual Prize distribution ceremony at the Sanjeevni Sugar Factory Hall. This was an important occasion in the academic calendar of GMFC since it celebrated the successful end of the academic year 2018-19.

The Vice-President of Shree Sateri Pissani Education Society, Shri Jeetendra Ramesh Naik, graced the occasion with his presence as the Chief Guest.

After the ceremonial lighting of the auspicious traditional lamp and floral welcome of the dignitaries, the Principal Dr. Shaikh Mohammad Parvez Al-Usmani presented the academic report which chronicled the various achievements of the many Departments and Committees of GMFC.  Dr. Shaikh encouraged the various departments to continue taking the initiative to organize activities that would polish and enrich students’ talents.

In his riveting address the Chief Guest stated that he admired the spirit of participation exhibited by the students as it takes courage to fearlessly step out of one’s comfort zone and showcase one’s talents. He also expressed his belief that success comes as a result of united and consolidated efforts by every member of the team and he hoped that staff and students would continue to work in unity for the betterment of all concerned.

This was followed by a special audio-visual DST presentation designed by the BCA department that highlighted the various achievements of GMFC students and staff in tournaments, competitions, workshops, conferences, seminars etc.

Next came the distribution of certificates, medals and trophies where the students’ excellence in the fields of academics, cultural and sports arena was recognized and honoured.  Around five hundred prizes were announced.

Mr. Samarth Naik from TYBCA was presented with the Best Out-Going Student (Male) Trophy for his active participation, achievements and contribution to GMFC over the course of the past three years, and Ms. Samiksha Sawal from TYBBA was awarded with the Best Out-Going Student (Female) Trophy for her many accomplishments over the three years spent at GMFC.

The prize distribution ceremony was followed by the Third Year Farewell Function. The First Year and Second Year BCom, BCA and BBA students got together and threw a fun-filled party for the Third Year students. The farewell function included exuberant dance performances and songs, games and spot prizes, sharing of incredible memories and, of course, many selfies. The programme ended on a sweet celebratory note with the Principal and Third Year Students coming together to cut the ceremonial cake.
