Library FAQ

i. HOW DO I GET MEMBERSHIP OF THE LIBRARY?

Answer: All the registered students of Goa Multi-Faculty College, Dharbandora – Goa are eligible to be a member of the College Library. You have fill the prescribed form for the Library membership available at the Library Counter and show a documentary proof such as Bank receipt of the fees paid during admission or Identify Card issued by College.  

ii. HOW MANY LIBRARY CARDS DO I GET?

Answer: First Year students gets 1 Borrowers Ticket, Second Year students gets 2 Borrowers Ticket and Third Year students gets 3 Borrowers Ticket.  

iii. HOW MANY BOOKS I CAN GET ON ONE BORROWERS TICKET? Answer: Only one book is issued on 1 Borrowers Ticket.  

iv. WHAT IS SCHOLAR CARD?

Answer: The library issues Additional Library Cards named as ‘Scholar Card’, for encouraging reading habits. These cards are issued for scholar students getting 60% and above marks in their previous examinations.  

v. WHAT IS SOCIAL CARD?

Answer: The library issues Additional Library Cards named as ‘Social Card’, for encouraging reading habits. These cards are issued for students belonging to SC/ST and OBC students.  

vi. HOW MANY DAYS THE BOOKS ARE ISSUED?

Answer: The book is normally issued for 7 days, and the date of return is mention on Due Date Slip at the backside of Library Book.  

vii. CAN I RENEW MY LIBRARY BOOKS?

Answer: Yes, the book can be renewed for 7 days.

viii. IS THERE A BOOKING FACILITY AVAILABLE FOR ISSUING BOOKS? Answer: Yes, you can do booking for the book already issued to other user and book not available in the library. You will get preference over other readers during the time of issuing book.  

ix. HOW DO I KNOW WHICH BOOKS ARE AVAILABLE IN THE LIBRARY?Answer: The Library has Closed access system and the books are well classified. The Library has Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC), from where you can search library holdings by author, title, subject, keywords, class number and accession number.  

x. HOW DO I REFER LIBRARY JOURNALS AND MAGAZINES?

Answer: The Library journals and magazines can be referred in the library. The latest additions of the journals/magazines are well displayed and the old issued are in the form of bound volumes.  

xi. HOW DO I REFER THE REFERENCE BOOKS IN THE LIBRARY? Answer: The library has the closed access system and the students can refer the books in the library, the students may asked the assistance from the library staff for locating the books in the library.  

xii. HOW DO I REFER THIRD YEAR PROJECTS?, CAN I TAKE PROJECTS OUT OF THE LIBRARY?

Answer: The third year projects are available only for reference in the library. No one permitted the projects to take out of the library or to take photocopy.  

xiii. WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF THE BOOK IS NOT RETURN IN TIME? Answer: You will have to pay Rs.2/- as the library overdue charges per day.
