GOA MULTI FACULTY COLLEGE PREMIERE LEAGUE

The department of Physical Education and the sports advisory committee of the college came up with a new and an innovative concept called Goa Multi Faculty College Premiere League. This was a unique concept in its way as such type of tournament was the first of its kind to be held at Inter Collegiate level, especially in Goa. The concept was a brain child of Assistant Professor NeeleshMorajkar and Assistant Professor Sandesh  Gaonkar with the support of Librarian Ajit Faras and College Director of Physical Education of Sports Elroy Pinto.

The idea of the concept was that there would be four teams owned by the staff of the college. The students, ex-students, staff of the college and staff of Government High School, Dharbandora would register themselves for the auction. Each team would have 10,000 points from which to select the players. Each team had to pick 2 marquee players (ex-students) and 1 girl compulsory. The tournament was held in a league format where all the teams played with each other once. The matches were of 10 overs. The teams for the tournament were Spunk the Royals owned by Assistant Professor NeeleshMorajkar, Midas Mavericks owned by Assistant Professor Sandesh Gaonkar, Panch Eleven owned by multi-tasking staff Shamba Gaude and Black Mamba owned by Librarian Ajit Faras.

The auction for the players was held on 5th February 2020. The chief guest for the function was Mr SiddeshKesarkar the College Director of Physical Education and Sports of Government College, Borda. He encouraged the college to continue with this event for years to come. The auctioneer for the event was Mr Tanmay Malkarnekar our very own ex-student who conducted the auction very smoothly and efficiently. The highest bid player was Mr Kedhar the accountant of the college and the highest paid girl was Ms Aishwarya Naik of TYBCA both taken by Black Mamba. The highest bid marquee player was JayeshGaonkar who went to Panch Eleven.
