BLOOD DONATION CAMP AT GOA MULTI-FACULTY COLLEGE BY HOSPICIO HOSPITAL, MARGAO

A Blood Donation Camp was organised at Goa Multi-Faculty College, Dharbandora, Goa on Thursday, 20th  February 2020, in collaboration with the Directorate of Health Services, Hospicio Hospital Blood Bank. The Red Ribbon Club in association with the NSS unit of GMFC took the initiative to organize this activity.

Dr. Ravin Rego and his seven member team were welcomed by the teachers in-charge and Dr. Rego expressed his appreciation for the Red Ribbon Club and stressed on the growing need for blood in the state and commended the young volunteers for their noble act who had begun gathering outside the donation room from 10 am onwards.

Dr. Ravin Rego, Medical officer, Hospicio Hospital, Margao, was accompanied by a team consisting of Sanjeev Nayak, Mr. Krishna Juwarkar, Lakxada Khandeparkar, Samiksha Desai, Kalpana Desai, Mr.Ramesh Sawant and Mr. Harichandra Malgi.

 

Students, teachers & other GMFC staff Members actively participated in this social cause. In addition, few residents and workers from the locality around the college also turned up for the camp. Over forty volunteers came forward to donate blood. The blood donors were provided healthy refreshments soon after donating the blood in order to reenergize themselves.

The blood donation camp was coordinated by the Convenor of Red Ribbon Ms.Kalpita Naik and the Co-Chairperson Mr. Neelesh Morajkar. They were assisted by the NSS Coordinator Mr. Ulhas Bansode, NSS Programme Officer  Ms. Sandhya Joseph and students volunteers from the GMFC NSS units.
